Wendy Bowers
Founder & Director
Wendy Bowers understands what it’s like to race through life working long hours.
She’s did it for years. She’s worked through the night sanding pine letter racks by hand when she was 18 and building a business with her first husband. She’s worked whilst rocking a baby seat – many times! She’s worked her way up, starting her own accountancy firm in 1999, to Director of the British Chambers of Commerce, one of the most respected business organisations in the world. She’s helped 100s of businesses, small and large, to get through tough times. She’s been the ‘lone woman’ on expert panels and business boards. She’s interviewed thousands of men and women about the benefits of diversity in senior roles, presenting these findings to government, its working committees and on national television. But also, Wendy Bowers is a daughter who recently lost her Mum to dementia, a wife and a mother of four and like many people today, she worked for years at breaking point. Four years ago she was taken to a Buddhist monastery, left there by her very wise eldest daughter and told to ‘sort herself out’. Now, after a long period of learning and healing, she has come to understand that success has to be your own version of it and that true fulfilment comes from within. She works with amazing partners to share her learning with people who need to slow down and rediscover better ways to live and lead. |
