What do most great leaders have in common?
The ability to have meaningful conversations with their team, their individual employees and their customers. This experiential day will equip you with a fabulous toolkit of communication and presentation skills and is suitable for anyone on the journey to leadership.
Morning session - Presentation Skills and Personal Impact - led by Amy Strange
An intensive, practical training session which will give you tools for immediate use.
We often find that people can be very animated in real life but when it comes to the workplace everything closes down. When working in high pressure situations people often reveal only a fraction of their personalities and so speaking to large groups, presenting in meetings, interviews, conference calls and so on, they do not portray their true passion and enthusiasm.
In this session we will work on being yourself and projecting your personality with confidence. We will look at how to heighten your presence, enabling you to deliver your ideas clearly and effectively.
Amy Strange is a professional actress and has worked across film, television and theatre. She trained at the Prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Amy is resident voice coach at the Fontainebleau School of Acting in Paris, and is currently furthering her training for this role under Nia Lynne (Vocal coach Royal Shakespeare Company). She has been working with Phil, coaching business leaders and managers for the past year.
Afternoon Session - Conversation Skills - led by Phil Fowler
Phil’s work puts relationship building at the heart of conversations. In this experiential learning session, we will focus on behaviours that foster a relationship building conversation and explain how too much of a problem solving attitude can actually get in the way of sustainable problem solving.
"To get to the next level of greatness depends on the quality of the culture, which depends on the quality of relationships, which depends on the quality of conversations. Everything happens through conversations." Judith Glaser. Author and organizational anthropologist
“Let me not go on training courses to teach me how to situationally develop my people; they have the capacity to develop themselves. All we need is a conversation about what they want, about what they have in mind” Peter Block: The Correct Use Of Power.
Phil Fowler has an MsC in Coaching and Mentoring and over 20 years experience working with a wide range of organisations and industries across 3 continents. In addition to his management training work, in 1999, he set up Popsters, a manufacturing and retail, product based company, which he still runs. This gives him a very practical, real world grounding in his work as a training consultant: Leading and motivating a team, talking to customers, negotiating with suppliers, and understanding the everyday stresses of running a business.
